GoalSelf is in private testing, by invitation. See how it works

How it works

GoalSelf turns one photo into a private, labelled illustration of you at the goal you choose. It runs in your phone's browser, by invitation while it is in testing.

1. Your starting point and goal

You enter your height, weight and age, choose the goal you are working toward, and confirm you are an adult. The picture is drawn to these numbers.

2. One photo

Prop your phone up and step back so your head and torso are in frame. Face the camera, in good light and everyday clothes. The page says how far to stand and checks the photo is large enough. It takes photos with the camera only, never from your library.

Some phones take a larger photo with their own camera app than a web page can. On those, the page asks you to use the camera app for this one shot.

3. Your picture

You get one illustration of yourself at your goal: 20, 30 or 40 pounds lighter. A goal that would go below a set floor is held at it and labelled with the real change. Three drafts are drawn and each is measured against your photo; the one closest to your goal is kept.

The picture carries the words “AI-generated illustration of a weight you chose. Not a prediction, not medical advice, not the result of any product.” The label is part of the image.

What happens to your photo

  • Your photo is sent to OpenAI to make your picture, then deleted.
  • The picture expires within 24 hours.
  • Nothing from these pages is shared with advertising platforms.

An illustration shows a target, not a result. It is not a forecast and not medical advice.
